Send Governor Schwarzenegger an e-mail of appreciation and support
for his commitment to veto AB 849, the bill the legislature recently
passed which would legalize same-sex marriage. By doing this,
you will help neutralize the massive pressure homosexual activists
and their allies are putting on him to reverse his commitment
to veto this bill and instead sign it into law. (A brief summary
providing more details of this situation is provided below.)
We make it easy for you to send an e-mail to the Governor by
following the simple steps below.
We also urge you to contact as many others as possible and encourage
them to also e-mail their support to the Governor. An easy way
to do this is also provided below.

Brief
Background on the Situation
Within a day of the Assembly passing AB-849, the bill which would
legalize same-sex marriage in California, Governor Schwarzenegger
announced that he would veto it. This was the responsible position.
The legislature totally ignored the clear will of the overwhelming
majority of Californians who passed the initiative statute, Proposition
22, in 2000 which limits marriage only to the union of a man and
a woman.
This bill also clearly violates our state constitution which
clearly states that the legislature cannot reverse an initiative
statue. It can only be reversed by a direct majority vote of the
people.
Homosexual activists and their allies have unleashed an tidal
wave of pressure on the Governor to try to get him to change his
mind. One homosexual activist group boasts that it had generated
more than 50,000 e-mails in the first couple of days and their
goal is to generate a million e-mails, calls and letters. Pro-homosexual
legislators are holding off sending him the bill until the last
possible day, September 23, to give this pressure campaign the
maximum time to work on him.
To neutralize these pressure tactics, it is critical that pro-marriage
Californians contact the Governor and express their appreciation
for his commitment to veto AB 849 and let him know that they support
him.
