Senate Bill 11: Expands Domestic Partner Benefits
Description: Amends the Family Code so that the same-sex eligibility or age eligibility of 62 years or older are no longer necessary to form domestic partnerships; as long as two people are unmarried, unrelated and have established a common residence, they can file a domestic partnership.

Senate Bill 443: Allowing “processing” and donation of HIV-infected donors’ sperm
Description: This bill on “sperm washing” would allow sperm donors who are HIV-positive to donate so long as their sperm were “effectively processed to minimize the infectiousness” of the sperm for a spouse, partner or designated donor.
Last action: “Chaptered by Secretary of State. Chapter 207, Statutes of 2007.”

Senate Bill 1163: To reqire new sex offenders to have a car sticker
Description: This bill would help families enormously in that it would require sex offenders whose offense took place starting January 1, 2009, to place a sticker on their license plate.
